Year of Completion: 2006

This 19th-century wood-framed Gothic Revival church was plagued with a deteriorating foundation, basement water problems and an awkward connection to its mid-20th century education wing addition and lobby.  Mills Whitaker Architects was retained to assess existing conditions and develop a master plan for repairs and renovations.  Phase I, completed in 2006, consisted of a complete reconstruction of the church’s basement and adjacent lobby area.  The work involved a new foundation, commercial kitchen, meeting hall, clothing pantry, support spaces and accessibility improvements.  The renovated areas have improved the usability of the building for both church and community functions.
