Park Street Church on the Boston Common owns four contiguous buildings that include the Church (1809), 1 Park (1971), 2 Park (1887), and 3 Park Street (1918). Mills Whitaker Architects has provided the following services in the 95,000 square foot urban campus:
1994 Space Planning Study - measured drawings, code analysis, conceptual design and budgets for mixed-use phased renovations.
1995 Alterations - expansion of Church offices in 2 Park Street and renovation of classrooms in 1 Park Street.
1999-2003 Alterations - phased conversion of existing space into “Park Street Kids” Nursery School along with related improvements to Sunday School classrooms.
2003-2006 Preservation - planning for exterior and interior preservation work in anticipation of the church’s 200th anniversary.
2007 Exterior Restoration - exterior masonry repairs, fire escape removals, and slate roofing replacement of the historic church.
2008 Interior Alterations - interior alterations in the historic church to improve accessibilty and to create a more welcoming lobby area with operable walls for multi-use meeting space.
